Carnival Celebration cabins and suites

carnival cruise line rooms

Each category has their own set of pros and cons, meaning that you'll have to weigh your options to determine what works best for you and your travel party. Categories 4A through 4H are labeled and priced according to their location on the ship, and all offer twin beds that can convert to a single king. Some inside cabins can hold one or two extra passengers in upper beds that fold out of the wall.

PLAN FOR FUN

New Carnival Vista class ships, for example, break down inside, oceanview and balcony further. Oceanview staterooms will have all of the above plus a porthole or picture window with a view of the ocean. That’s helpful for those who just want to see what is outside of the ship with their own eyes. Your stateroom television will probably have a bow cam on the front and an aft cam on the back that will also provide that information.

With an oceanview cabin, you get a window looking out to the sea but not an attached balcony where you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Each of the vessels in Carnival's recent Vista-class series, for instance, offer fewer than 75 suites. Each of the line's earlier Conquest-class ships have around 50 suites. The oldest Fantasy-class vessels have 28 suites and 26 junior suites. Suites are also able to accommodate more passengers and standard staterooms, so if you want your entire family in one room, they're a great option. Otherwise, you'll have to consider an ocean view room or two adjoining staterooms.

Other Carnival Cruise Line cabins

Over 70% of all staterooms are outside, 300 pairs are connecting/family cabins. Cabin balconies are accessed via sliding floor-ceiling glass doors. Deluxe outside cabins are slightly larger (230 square feet) and can sleep up to five. They double as the ship's "family" cabins and have the two twins that convert to king, two pulldown beds and a sofa that converts to a twin. The typical Carnival balcony cabin has a contemporary look, with clean lines and relatively minimalist furniture. It typically features twin beds that can be converted into a king bed, a built-in desk area and a sofa that often pulls out into an additional bed.

By contrast, the line's newer ships have a higher percentage of inside cabins than you'll find on the newer ships of some rival lines. About 44% of the 2,004 cabins on Carnival's Carnival Panorama (launched in 2019) are balcony cabins, for instance. Compare that to the 65% of cabins on Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas (launched in 2018) that are balcony cabins. Interior cabins on Carnival Cruise Line are some of the smallest rooms onboard and lack natural light since they do not have any windows. From an old college friend gathering to a ladies-only birthday bash or golfing buddy getaway, cruise ships are the perfect place for group vacations. Whether you have 10 or 20 people in your group, there’s something to do and see even if everyone differs in age, abilities and interests.

In Main Dining Rooms are provided complimentary high chairs and booster seats. This is one ship that’s ready to put its fun where your vacation is, with plenty of ways to enjoy your time away. Carnival Cruise Line offers a diverse range of interior rooms, each with its unique charm. From rooms with portholes to those with obstructed views, there’s something for everyone. All rooms also have hair dryers, but they're weak and are attached to the top drawer of your desk with an accordion cord. The on-demand menu also lets you purchase pay-per-view movies, buy shore excursions or look up your onboard balance.

Carnival went big with the suites on the groundbreaking, 5,282-passenger vessels — the biggest Carnival ships ever. Note that, in a quirk of the cabin categorization system at Carnival, there are a few inside cabins on some Carnival ships that do, indeed, have a view to the outside world. These cabins either have an obstructed view (often due to lifeboats) or a porthole, such that the view isn't all that great.

Cloud 9 Spa Suites

Passengers could enter a lower class facility, but never one above what they had booked. Vestiges of this system remain on a few transatlantic ocean liners, but most cruise ships offer equal access for all, regardless of cabin selection. With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool tub. These suites also come with exclusive access to Loft 19, a sundeck located on Deck 19.

Premium Vista Balcony cabins are located around ship's aft corners and have same suite amenities (including wrap-around balconies). Extended Balcony cabins are in 2 grades - 8N and 8M (both with aft ship location). These staterooms have 50% larger balconies, 3 closets (in all grades balcony rooms), full bathroom (shower). Excel Presidential Suites (fleet's largest) feature spacious dining-living-sleeping areas and fleet's biggest balconies (with double sunbeds, lounging area, outdoor hot tub and shower). Both suites enjoy complimentary access to the Havana Pool complex and Spa's Thermal Suite.

Have your own sailaway party and space with your private balcony cabin. When it comes time to book a cruise, what type of stateroom you want to book is sometimes one of the deciding factors in finalizing the booking. Here are the major stateroom categories offered on Carnival Cruise Line. USB chargers (combined with power outlets) are located in the cabin's sitting area - right above the vanity desk (underneath its lighted mirror) and not near the beds. The available power plugs are three - two 120 V (3-prong, US standard) and one 220 V (European standard). There is one power outlet in the bathroom (used only for electric razors).

Relax in your own personal outdoor oasis… designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views. Design is more than just the way things look — it’s as much about how they work. And staterooms aboard Mardi Gras are packed with innovative changes to both.

On Carnival Panorama, for instance, most inside cabins measure 185 square feet. That's the same size as the interior area of some oceanview and most balcony cabins on the ship (not including the extra square footage from the balcony). Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you're looking to cruise aboard Carnival Paradise. Any time you're in your room, you're just steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis, featuring the sort of sea view you can also feel. A Carnival Excel Corner Suite aboard Mardi Gras features tons of indoor space, plus a large wraparound balcony with lounge chairs and an al fresco dining table, for when you need a little more space. Back inside this impressive room you’ll find a king-size bed, deluxe bathroom, plus a living room featuring a wet bar.

That said, Carnival has seen the success that some of its competitors have had with a bigger range of upscale accommodations, and it's eyeing more suites for future vessels. The line's two newest ships, Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, each have 180 suites — more than twice the number found on the vessels Carnival was unveiling a few years ago. Interior rooms are budget-friendly and perfect for light-sensitive sleepers. However, they might lack the spaciousness and views some travelers desire. Havana Interiors, designed in a luxurious Old Havana style, provide guests access to the exclusive Havana Pool area. Family Harbor Interiors, adorned in classic American nautical decor, are perfect for families.

Select ships also have forward and aft-view balconies that come with more outdoor space and some unique views that port and starboard rooms cannot provide. Compared to older ships in the fleet, Carnival's new-builds have more balcony rooms available. This jumped to 46% on Carnival Panorama and 61% on Carnival Jubilee (Note that these calculations include suites, too). Keep in mind that some staterooms and features are exclusive to specific ships, so be sure to check out the amenities on board the ship you choose. You’ll sleep well knowing you’ve chosen the right spot for snoozing while cruising.

We also added a Bonsai Sushi Express™, so you can take your fresh sushi, sashimi, rolls and more, to go, someplace fun. Even the smallest cabins on Carnival Jubilee offer good storage space, though if you have four in a room, you might struggle a bit with drawer space. Slightly smaller are a dozen 710-square-foot Excel Corner Suites offering separate sleeping and lounging areas and wraparound balconies. A step down are six smaller Excel Suites that measure 614 square feet. Suites on Carnival ships also haven't traditionally come with butlers and access to private concierge lounges like the suites on many other vessels. As noted above, Carnival ships also have fewer suites than you'll find on the ships of some of its rival lines.

A Grand Suite onboard Carnival Panorama, for instance, features 345 square feet of interior space! One step above inside cabins on Carnival Cruise Line are ocean view staterooms. These are similar to interior rooms in that they do not have any direct access to the outdoors; however, every room within this category does have a picture window that looks out at the ocean. If you are craving natural light but do not want to spend the money on a balcony, these are a great option. You can always have a view of what’s going on outside when you book an oceanview stateroom. Oceanview staterooms come with a panoramic window, two twin beds that are convertible to a king, and some ocean view rooms even have 1.5 bathrooms.
